I cannot sign in because the Portal says my password is incorrect or I have forgotten my password. How do I correct this?

Extra security measures have been put into place so that passwords can only be reset/changed. State office staff do not have the ability to tell you what your current password is and cannot set your password for you.

Follow these instructions to reset your password:
  1. On the sign in page, click the Forgot Password button located below the form.
  2. If you need to reset the password for your school account, enter your School ID in the box.
  3. If you need to reset the password for your individual account, enter your email address in the box.
  4. Click the Reset Password button once.
  5. Wait for an email from portal@tssaa.org with the subject "TSSAA Portal Password Reset."  Check your spam/junk folder if you do not see it immediately.
  6. Click the link contained within the email.
  7. On the page that appears, enter your new password twice.  It must be eight characters and include at least one capital letter.
  8. Click Reset Password once.  The system will acknowledge that the password was changed.
  9. Close the browser window and return again to the Portal sign in page (https://portal.tssaa.org) to sign in with your new password.  Please be mindful that passwords are case-sensitive.
If you attempt to reset the password for a school account and the email address on file is incorrect or you do not receive the email, you will need to contact the state office and supply an up-to-date email address for the school.  The email address for the school account should belong to the principal or athletic director and should be a school/district/state-supplied account.
